Hinoki Soap Dish
A simple soap dish crafted from solid Hinoki, bringing the quiet beauty of Japanese cypress to the everyday ritual of washing.
This soap dish showcases the pale color and fine grain of a wood long cherished in Japanese bathing traditions. Set beside the sink or at the edge of the tub, it changes the feel of the room more than its size would suggest.
The form is kept to what the soap needs. Shallow grooves help keep the bar from sitting in water, low edges hold it in place, and small silicone bumpers beneath allow air to circulate under the wood. Designed as part of the Jinen Hinoki collection, it shares its clean lines and quiet character with the other pieces, so they sit together naturally.
Sourced from the sacred forests of the Kii Mountains, Hinoki is cherished for its smooth texture, warm tone, and gentle fragrance. Prized in Japan for centuries, this wood offers remarkable resistance to moisture and decay. Left uncoated to preserve its natural scent and luster, Hinoki lends a serene clarity to everyday rituals of bathing and renewal.

Care
Hinoki wood products are left uncoated to highlight their natural beauty, unique grain, and distinct fragrance. Regular care is essential to prevent mold and stains, especially when used in humid areas. With proper maintenance, you can enjoy the lasting charm of your Hinoki products for years.
• When washing, rinse with lukewarm water using a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive pads as they may cause fine scratches.
• If using detergent, choose a mild or neutral one. Harsh detergents can cause black stains and discoloration.
• After washing, wipe thoroughly with a dry cloth and allow the Hinoki to air dry in a well-ventilated, low-humidity area.
• Avoid exposing Hinoki to high temperatures or direct sunlight as this can cause cracking and warping.
• For tough stains, gently sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper.
• Hinoki's resin may surface, resulting in stickiness. If bothersome, clean with a neutral detergent or rubbing alcohol.
