Fushikaden Spiral Incense
A slow-burning coil of fine sandalwood and traditional aromatics, made in the spirit of Noh: two hours of quiet from a single light.
Fushikaden takes its name from Zeami’s fifteenth-century treatise on Noh theater. Kousaido, an incense house on Kyoto’s Karasuma-dori, composed this series around the world of Noh: its hush, and the depths it hints at. Each scent is built on a generous base of fine sandalwood and traditional aromatics.
The spiral changes how incense fits into a day. Where a stick burns for half an hour, one coil smolders for about two hours, slow and even. Light it when you sit down with a book, start a long bath, or settle in for an evening at home, and let the fragrance unfold at its own pace. A small round holder comes in the box; set it on a heat-resistant plate to catch the ash.
Katsura River
Sandalwood with sanna and clove: the warm, faintly spiced scent of the old capital.
White Plum
White plum blossom with musk and borneol: plum flowers glowing white against the curtain of night.
Moss
Sandalwood with moss and oakmoss: the stillness of a moss garden in Kyoto.
Contains 10 spiral coils with an incense holder.
